These days the events I blogged about are pretty backdated, typed only when I truly have the time or energy to plonk myself in front of my ramshackle Compaq.

Anyway, the other day a colleague commented that underneath my tan, there seems to be more brown than yellow, which prompted her to ask if I have any mixed blood heritage somewhere up in my family tree.

And as how fashionably coincidence works (actually I bugged my parents) I recently found out that indeed, somewhere way up in the ancestry branch we had some javanese blood. After a meagre calcuation, I guesstimated that I possess a possible 3% (OMG. THREE PER CENT! Am I supposed to be in utter shock?) of Javanese blood, amongst other common ancestry roots from Malaysia and China. FWAH.

(Self-mockery, heh.)

Then again, is that really the reason behind my not so fair skin? Trivial food for thought on a friday night. This happens when your boss is invited to a F1 party and there are not enough invitations to bring you along. Hmpf.

Last weekend, there was a major wedding so the entire team was tasked to help out. A few of us helped out for both Saturday and Sunday, which was church blessing/hi-tea and wedding dinner (hotel) respectively. The newlyweds will not be making up for the bulk of this entry even though the bride was SO SO SO PRETTY, truly bringing the word ‘beauty’ to life, even without make-up per se. ANYWAY, there were a lot of standing and walking around for both days; but at the end of the first day my feet were feeling quite alright, and I even met Jim and Ying for dinner. Little did I know Sunday will be hellish for my feet!

Absolutely inhumane feet-torturing heels! Perfect for looking good, but totally inept for shows! Quoting Fen, I’m not quite sure if those feet were mine towards the end of the day. The strain were all at my toes, and it was so bad (I’m not exaggerating) the parts of my feet from my lower ankle to my toe cracks were flushed – I suppose it’s a sign of TOO MUCH blood flow towards the toes for an overly long period my feet not accustomed to (we were standing and moving around for 13hrs straight), at least for me!

Was limping and moaning in pain when I got home (image to maintain in public) and my mum who was awake “thoughtfully” dragged my sleeping dad up at frigging 1am+ because I was fantasizing about soaking my sore feet in a pail of HOT water. During my shower, daddy actually woke up (I am not all that surprised; my dad’s a good man), boiled the kettle of water, waited for it to boil, pour it into the bucket and mixed the temperature perfectly for my sore feet.

And while goner-me was having the absolute shiokness feet therapy, dad prepared a mug of hot Milo for me upon hearing that I have not had food since 2pm. No instant noodles because it was by then close to 2am, and therefore unhealthy. Aww.. how can I not love my dad? How can I not compare my future man to my dad? How can OB tease me when I say I want my future man to be on par, if not as good, as my dad?

Even though my dad is illiterate and probably don’t earn as much money as most people, not to mention don’t know how to save up, does not speak good english, is very dark (from working since the age of 8/10) and not too tall (but a suave young man!), is getting old, losing hair and has a super oily face – he loves the family in his own ways and with everything that he has; everyone who knows him says he is a good worker, good man, good husband, good father, and a good grandfather for the last eight years and counting, which by the way, is more than enough to prove my point. I don’t even have to go into the nitty grittys.

And for that, he is also an airy fairy who gets bullied and/or taken for granted by some people! I do not allow that to happen, just because you are elderly does not give you the right to manipulate or stop me from hitting sense into you. You are not entitled to my dad’s goodness if you don’t deserve it. Just because he does not stand up to you does not mean you can continue to step all over him! One more time, I will go straight to your wife! HMPFFFFFFF.

For the record, and in case you do not know, I am dubbed by UG the GOGM (pronounced gomng) aka Goddess of Good Memory, and therefore whatever you have done I remember, and I will bear them in mind for a long time. Oh, I am an occasional malicious Scorpio as well. Just so you know. Yepp.

Other than that, I am a harmless sheep and I love my family, friends and ipod. And my job! Love love.

Pictures intensive!

This was our second trip to Hong Kong. Parents missed the first trip, so HK was chosen again this time round. I think it was the fourth my sis visited HK; she’s insane + irrational when it comes to travelling.

The best thing that transpired was prolly mummy paying for the trip! Yayy!

On the cab to the airport. Feeling uber happy, the thought of being away from work simply perks me up, making me all relaxed and bubbly. (Chris, you did not read this. Urps.)

Our umpteen unsuccessful attempts to pucker/pout in a cute way. I think the pics turned out pretty retarded.

Someone whipped out the cammie and started snapping while queueing at the ticketing counter! It was me! Woot!

There were eight of us altogether, of whom included myself, mummy, daddy, sis, agassi (he’s eight years old already!), my aunt and my cuzzies - Wei & Regina!

I don’t know about the rest, but I was truly truly grateful for the getaway. Am no professional at stress management, so I usually resort to non-stop whinings or drinking. This timely trip allowed me to snap out of work and driving for a bit, which makes it all the more sweeter.

At the transit area awaiting boarding! This place brings back all the fond memories I had during internship, reminds me of dear F5, Alessa, Wilfred, Nigel, the CSU staff, even Luke “the party animal” Tay *guffaws*

Girls, in case you are looking at this, I miss you all! Hope you guys are doing good!

Sorry, I digressed.

As expected, photo whoring officially went nutter at the waiting area, heh. People often say I resembled my dad, I think I agree! The squarish jawline, the tiny-when-you-smile-eyes, the big nose, the lips, the high forehead and even the easily oily skin!

As we checked in late (as opposed to the ‘early birds’, read: typical kiasuism), we were not able to get all eight seats near each other. Sis and I sat together, and resumed the snappings!

We thought better NOT to continue with the puckering though, heh. I don’t look like her at all, do I? We were often mistaken as friends instead of siblings. She’s prettier, fairer and possibly slimmer now, but I’m brainier! ;p

Caught ’I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry’ on flight and it was hilarious! Adam Sandler’s brand of chick flicks are so funny!

Hello Hong Kong!

We are an exaggerated lot. Eight people plus a five days trip, and look at the number of luggages in the picture. And we have not done no shopping! Tsk tsk.

Everyone loves to do a Jay Chou, as illustrated above by Ag & Regina.

Ag already enjoyed doing this when he was younger! Evident from the above that was taken when he was four. Circa four years and he is still doing it, talk about the influence Mr Chou has on kids these days har!

Arriving at our hotel where we stayed for that four nights. Kimberley Hotel’s located roughly ten minutes away from Tsim Tsa Tsui MTR station, which geographically speaking, is still considered kinda accessible. (Prudential Hotel which we stayed previously was pretty accessible too. Jordan Station was just below the hotel, literally.)

A stone’s throw away from Park Lane, it is where we love to stroll past but never got past buying anything from the stores, except Laneige’s Clear C that was almost twenty bucks cheaper than in SG! This time round though, sis did not manage to get any because apparently, Laneige has stopped production for that product. She was as disappointed as you can imagine her to be!

Try clicking to enlarge the second pic!

Did you see the irony of it?

The mini bar/ refrigerator in the toilet below the basin! We got an adjoining room and the cuzzies shared the smaller room. I was attempting earlier to locate the refrigerator and couldn’t find it anywhere near the TV nor the wardrobe, until I accidentally came across it while <strike>shitting</strike> ‘unburdening’ my bowels. Ahem.

After settling down and taking some meagre rest, eight famished souls throttled out on the quest for food. It didn’t take long, and after a gratifying dinner, we went on to explore the area along the very long Nathan Road.

Day Two. The day we travelled quite a fair bit if I remembered correctly. Mad snapping as usual, from the hotel room, the corridor to inside the lift. Lala.

Trivia: we have a third hotel room which we did not utilize at all due to a terrifying experience the few ladies had when they went to China. On top of that, there was only one MAN (i.e my daddy) to ‘protect’ us, so we gathered we’ll stick to the two adjoining rooms. Haha. Strength in numbers, they said. Ying and Jim sniggered at that, remarking I should have donated that room to them. Next time alrights.

As if to commemorate the unused room, Ag posed for me to take a pic of him lying on the trundle bed! And he went on to ask me to take sillier pics with him, which I acceded!

Snapping pictures everywhere we go, anyhere we are, even in the trains! People in our carriage were staring like we were some xiang ba lao, but heck! I was the unspoken anointed photographer for the trip! My divine task was to mad snap at anything and everything!

In particular, we heart photo whoring with the MTR station names, as shown below!

These are only the few that I have selected, I totally dig the different colours they have for each stations! Nice!

Alighted at Prince Edward Station, our next stop after brunch: Fa Yuen Street Market. My first time to the street market, and pretty excited I was! Along the way, I captured pictures of the old buildings along Prince Edward Road. So TVB-dramaish!

Aside to Jim, Fa Yuen Street Market is in between Prince Edward and Mong Kok (East) Station, but nearer to the former. It doesn’t just sells shoes hokay.

FYST was pretty much like Temple Street Market or our Bugis Street, but more ranges of stuffs at much lower prices, from toys, accessories, shoewears, apparels, bags, wedding-related products and my fave Super Mario mushroom! Love!

Not forgetting to pose for the cammie whilst shopping too!

It’s called “娴情站”, a dispensing machine for books authored by 张小娴! I have only seen three different types my entire life, for canned drnks, for tidbits, and for condoms (in Aussie)! This is like how cool can!

This is the very nice Park Lane (cammie does not do it any justice) …

and the very nice Agnes B… Nothing caught my eye even though it was freaking sales period in there. Boo.

My mummy and daddy! It was the first in the entire twenty two years of my life I saw my parents held hands! Aww. So sweet so diabetic I wanna faint can! I was so happy so high so exhilarated so flushed! My parents are definitely not the PDA type, in fact I don’t recall ever seeing them engage in anything more than a shoulder brush. So, can you imagine the rush of adrenaline in me?!! WHEE!

Ahem.

Post-dinner. Random shopping at the night market at Temple Street. This was where I acquired my collection of HK street names magnets! ‘Avenue of stars’ was my favouritest favourite, reminds me of 林宥嘉 ♥ *MUAKKK

Aptly named “The Art of Yeah”, I think we brought the peace sign to a new level. Yeah.

Am super sensitive to the word 星光, even if it is just a random optical shop. Heh.

Walked briefly around the shopping malls at Causeway Bay, and acquired zero items. Located Causeway Plaza, the place I had been nagging to go again since the previous trip. But no, I did not managed to get anything from there as well. Nope. Zilch.

Fashion Walk caught my eye while having a breakie at Causeway Plaza. Noticed the contrast? The ultra modern Fashion Walk versus the old/ rundown apartments directly above!

The much-anticipated visit to the Avenue of Stars (星光大道). Who was the fishcurryhead who said there’ll be fireworks everyday at 2000hrs? As far as I recall, I merely watched some laser shows which wasn’t even interesting to begin with.

Enjoyed the bone-shattering cold wind and the scenic views though

Post-laser show, and our mad snapping resumed! Taking in the breathtaking views, and leaving their handprints on the avenue were Ag, sis and Regina (from top left) Hehe.

今夜星光多美好. I am calling this third day of the trip “Day of 星光” :)

[Pardon the incoherent thoughts. Can't wait to finish uploading the pics.]

Day four. Brought our parents and cuzzies to Wong Tai Sin Temple. Following which, we went back to Fa Yuen Street Market to get some wedding-related stuffs for Wei’s and sis’ upcoming weddings. That makes two weddings this year, double bliss!

Digress: I couldn’t resist showing this particular pic to OB. Do you guys find any resemblance in this facial expression of Ag?

Any at all?

Nicholas anyone? Yanling’s Nic? I was <strike>aghast</strike> startled at the resemblance which spells no good. If we often joked about how Nic looks like a certain Bobby, and my dearest nephew now looks like Nic, doesn’t it just imply my nephew resembles that same Bobby?

Oh, hell no! Yike! Ag has to start losing some weight off his meatball face, and get a new ‘do!

Don’t be offended hokay, Yanling darling! We still love Nic! I just don’t quite dig the idea of Agassi looking like Bobby URPS.

Day five aka last day.

Continual mad photo snapping in the hotel room whilst doing our final packing.

My childish sister is very narcissistic (and to be honest, quite pretty). My bro-in-law to be and I share a common interest in teasing her with this fond term known as b**bo. I’m the brainier one, you see :D

OB likes to tease Jim about my sis too, you do like her, don’t you? Hehe.

Jetting off to Central to get the famous egg tarts! The crowd at the SOHO area was mad, the traffic was terrible, and the traffic lights were useless. I can’t fight the crowd to cross the road, and by the time I make it to the front, the traffic lights turned green for the vehicles. Damn.

Their milk tea was worth the wait though! SLURPPP.

And oh, I think the crowd at SOHO has very good bladders! I can’t spot any toilets even at the individual shops, not to mention my “toilet radars” were full on! (Hahaha. They have loos at their office buildings I know la.)

The weather turned colder in the late noon. We enjoyed a bit of the teeth-clattering wind after getting off the coach at the airport, so shiok I like!

The flight back was turbulence-filled and a handful of passengers were affected by it; it was so bad for one lady she got shifted to business class, and eventually helped off the plane before everyone else when the plane landed. The old lady seated beside me puked numerous times, and was so weak she lost her footing when she got up for the lavatory. It got so bad she had to use an oxygen tank. Airsickness is scary!

I offered to help hold the oxygen tank for the lady, since it doesn’t make sense to my sis and I for the stewardess to squat there and hold the tank till the flight touch down. Especially since the plane was jerky, and preparing for landing.

Note aside, we caught ‘Bourne Ultimatum’ on flight, and ohmygawd Jason Bourne is charming! Matt Damon is the new love!

We finally touched down (safely) slightly after midnight, and got a swift ride home from Wei’s bf! Home sweet home I even got the chance to catch the rerun of 超级星光大道 before turning in!

So right, this marks the end of the longest enrty for my wordpress, heh. I finally uploaded the peekchures!!! *sweat*

Good night world
