Pictures & Updates!

June 21, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I have been told my wordpress’ pretty much deserted, that is kinda true! Mainly because I have not much to blog about! Urps.

In short, I am lazy and also newly unemployed (Again?!) Not much to talk about, will update when I get a new job :)

Anyhow, shall post up pictures of the latest addition to our family! Very much loved and pampered princess, my little niece, who seems attracted to – of all cartoon characters - Hello Kitty. Omg.

Firstly, Rachelle (pronounced Ray shell) Lee @ one week old. All newborns look like boys har!

Side note: Yes, Rach, it does appear that my new-born niece has a name like yours :)

Affectionately called Mei Mei (that used to be my exclusive term in the family, happily usurped by the new princess!) @ two-three weeks old. Her looks has since changed; she looks more like a girl now :)

Page 2 - Early May

Lil’ Miss Sunshine @ four-six weeks old. First shave at one month old; a customary practice to ensure her hair grows smoother and more?

Baby Rachelle in the month of June. At two months old, she is awake more, and very hyper-active! She continues to get hiccups very often, and I get tickled whenever her eyes light up when she hears the spoon hitting against the milk bottle, which means Milktime!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY GIRL!

Anyway, OB had their periodic OBtoberfest yesterday @ Prinsep’s Roomful of Blues. Jim promised a good ambience, drinking place and a charismatic singer to boot. First, the ambience was not that fantastic, the jamming band made it impossible to talk.

We decided to “SMS-MSN” with our handphones, and using unreadable sign language to talk to each other amidst the loud music, some classic phrases amongst others,

“This is not the place for me, I can’t talk”

“I can’t shut myself up”

“Where do cute straight guys go to on Sat nights?”

“Do you promise a can of cute guys if we go there?” (“Can” being an abstract noun, you know, like a can of sardine, which means ALOT, haha!)

“This is the place for nerds to pretend to be happening” (Just kidding!)

The drinks were ok, I mean, how can you go wrong with a pint of Hoegaarden or Asahi, or Colada, or that flaming shot of Baileys (can’t remember the name!)

The “charismatic Gilbert” finally came at 11pm, and Jim happily told us we can dedicate songs and he will belt it out for us. He sang for close to 15 minutes? And went for a 45 minutes break.

I’m Yours never came, neither did Love, Me or any Three Doors Down numbers. Charismatic he was but not singing ANY of our dedications was a big boo boo. We are selfish consumers.

We left after a few rounds of dice and Dai Di.

We decided to go to a more “happening” place, and decided on any Karaoke pub along Boat Quay because the K places would be too pricey and Mabel enjoys showing off in public, HAHA. But not before I embarrass myself in the cab and Mabel gets her stomach filled at Shah Alam.

As we walk down the stretch of Karaoke pubs, I can’t help but cringe and look back at Archipelego Brewery. I whispered to Yanling, “I think this is now too happening for us. I am old and don’t fit in here anymore.  Archipelego is shouting out for me” – to which she let loose a very loud laughter!

We attempted a smokey Karaoke pub. Yanling remarked, “Even if there were any cute guys, you wouldn’t see any for the place is too smokey!” :p

We eventually chose this pub (didn’t get the name?) and stayed there till 530am, waiting for our dedications and drinking Chivas with free mixers. I drank only one glass throughout ’cause I was too bloated! We had a great time drinking, sitting around and talking about everything under the sun, took some pictures too; will upload it when I get hold of them!

Grreat company to boot :) Was yet another great OBtoberfest! ♥♥♥
