Otherwise known as “the gathering that would have been complete if not for the birthday girl’s absence”. In case you are scratching your head, you read it right.
Ironically, the main agenda of 14-May was to celebrate Ms Mabelline “eeediort” Goh’s belated birthday on 11-May. The problem was, eeediort did not turn up (and on a very short notice at that!) :(
[Surprisingly, I was the FIRST to arrive that evening. I hate to be early because I always end up having to wait for the rest longer, and whenever I am punctual, the said people will be extra late. Damn.]
Regina (aka Iced Lemon TEE, Earl Grey TEE, Pearl Milk TEE. All kinds of tea, basically.) was second to arrive, and she came with a piece of good news for us. I was asked to guess.
“Wait. Don’t tell me. YOU’RE IN LOVE? YOU GOT A BF? DENNIS? ” Wrong. She don’t have any other sort of feelings except friendship for this ex-coursemate-current-colleague. He’s taken too, by the way. Aiya, we have been trying to market our Ah Dai. Please drop a comment if interested. Urps. And I digressed.
“Hmm. YOU GOT A PROMOTION? A PAY RAISE?” You wish.
“Errr…I know I know, YOU GOT DAMN GOOD RESULTS FOR YOUR PAPERS!” The results aren’t even out yet.
“Ahhh!! YOUR PR’S APPROVED?” She has been a PR for the past five years or so. Urps. But quite close to it.
“Oh! Yes! YOU GOT YOUR CITIZENSHIP!” Finally got it right, phew.
Subsequently, when the remaining four lovelies (Fen, Jim, Ying & Yan) arrived, they had their fair share of “fun” too. I derived alot of fun from it, at least. Fen’s guesses were ALL identical to mine, including the PR part! Regina rolled her eyes twice as hard upon hearing that from Fen.
For the bulk of it, all of them had similar guesses. At one point, someone pointed out that guesses should be steered in a “different” direction, which triggered hilarious inputs by Ying LIKE “YOU BOUGHT A NEW DOG?” We got near-asthmatic attacks laughing at that! Ying is definitely a closet clown, I tell you!
Anyway.. quoting Fen, Regina being a PR or Singapore Citizen does not really differ much. She was just this EXTREMELY innocent (read: uncorrupted mind) buddy who visits Malaysia on a more frequent basis than most of us. Heh.
